The Canopy has been developed over a circuit of 8 cables (all double lines!!!) and 14 platforms (running approximately 1.5 km), stretching over spectacular views of the Gulf of Nicoya, the Rio Barranca, and the luxurious forest. The first 4 cables are in terrestrial platforms, paying special care to the wellbeing of the tree and from an aesthetic point of view they are bound to impress our visitors. In the middle and end of the tour you can find beautiful ecological trails. Once the tour has finished, delicious fruits and bottled cold water will be served.

Tour security

Our system is one of the safest in the country, since it is NOT one of the conventional models of zip line tours, where the client is hanging by a cable sitting in a harness. Rather, we provide a system with two parallel cables, one on top of the other, with the exact same length and tension, giving a high level of safety come riding time. Adventure Playground Co. was in charge of the design, construction and the installation. The park has been set up under the necessary international standards of safety denoted by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), which allows us to offer a service of extreme tour, where the existing risk is entirely controlled and where safety is doubled: DOUBLE CABLE, DOUBLE HARNESS, and DOUBLE PULLEY. That's why our slogan is “DOUBLE SAFETY – Certified Stamp”.

Parque Aventura Río Barranca offers a Canopy where the environmental impact is practically void, where the health of the trees that are a part of the trip is guaranteed by a dendrlogic test and where the air platforms have been installed in such a way that his stability offers calmness and safety to the user. As part of the safety measurements, we provide with ecotrails and ways of easy access for vehicles to all the points of the tour.

On another hand, Parque Aventura Río Barranca offers a Canopy where the environmental impact is practically obsolete, where the health of the trees is guaranteed by a deontological test and in which the aerial platforms have been installed in such a way that their stability offers a sense of calm and safety to its users. In addition, as part of the safety measurements, the park has eco-trails and points of easy vehicle access all throughout the length of the tour.

This kind of zip lining, the Superman Flight, is known in other countries, mainly in Europe, as the Eagle Flight. This Canopy consists of zip lining over the treetops in a Superman-like position with your arms extended and your legs stretched straight out. Speeds vary according to how steep of the cables, the weight of the person, due to g-forces.

A special brakes system based on pulleys, ropes and nuts, operated by a canopy guide will reduce speeds with no impact at all, assuring 100% safety to our clients. To keep the horizontal position we use two harnesses (chest and sitting ones) with 2 pulleys (a total of 4). A harness around the waist and one at the chest are anchored around the back. Each one of these harnesses is attached to 2 pulleys supported by 12” certified lines. In addition a 24” safety line is installed with a shock absorber.

The tour is made up of 2 descents of 125m and 550m each. These complete a regular circuit of 8 canopy tour cables. On the longest cable you can reach speeds of up to 70km/h, assuring a different panoramic of controlled risk and a high emotional doses.

This is a tour jam-packed with adrenaline as you zip-line into the night, through dry forests, in midst of mystical sounds and a visibility that defies our deepest fears, vertigos and desire for extreme action.

Parque Aventura Río Barranca, is the only adventure Enterprise that gives you the chance to do a completely night time canopy. With all the lights necessary to break through the weary, black nights and just enough to appreciate the great heights of each zip-line that hangs defiantly over the forest. We take our visitors on not-easily-matched tours, where the experience extreme is sealed with the stamp of unforgettable memories. Notwithstanding, everything is done along the lines of our eternally strict safety rules and practices.
